So happy you’re here — I’m Miya.

Miya is a licensed clinical social worker with over a decade of experience supporting individuals through anxiety, trauma, and life transitions. As the founder of Anchors of Healing, Miya blends evidence-based therapy with a holistic approach to help you feel grounded, empowered, and whole through major life shifts.

The Experience Behind Miya’s Work

Background

Helping others has always been Miya’s passion. From service trips in college to working in foster care, Miya has supported children, families, and court systems. To better understand the systems impacting them, Miya began providing care in correctional settings, where she’s worked for several years.

Education

Miya received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Northeastern University. Miya received her first Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University, Lincoln Center. Miya’s pursuit of education and her desire to create change catapulted her into receiving her second Masters Degree in Public Health from CUNY School of Public Health.

Certifications

Miya is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with certifications in Trauma-Informed Care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Crisis Intervention. She brings extensive experience working across correctional facilities, foster care, and community mental health settings.

Miya actively pursues training in trauma-informed care, culturally responsive therapy, and maternal mental health to provide the most effective support. She also mentors new clinicians through clinical supervision, helping them grow with confidence and clarity.

Adolescent and Family Therapy

Geneva is a licensed social worker with years of experience providing therapeutic support to students in school settings. Through individualized counseling, group therapy, collaboration with families and school staff; Geneva fostered student overall emotional wellbeing and academic performance. Focusing on Social Emotional Learning, building rapport and mental health, Geneva is passionate and dedicated to servicing student support needs, fostering resilience and healthy relationships.
